Existence: More than Just Understanding

The existence is something that must be felt, not just understood. This reminds us that life is more than intellectual understanding; it is deep feeling, emotion, and intuition. Eastern teachings teach us to connect with our feelings and experience each moment, rather than overanalyze it.

For instance, consider a beautiful sunset. You can understand it scientifically as the sun setting below the horizon, the scattering of sunlight by the atmosphere causing the sky to change colors. But to truly experience a sunset is to feel it. It's the warmth of the last rays of sun on your skin, the awe of the vibrant colors spreading across the sky, the calmness as day slowly transitions into night.

Or consider love. You can understand it as a complex interaction of chemicals in the brain, a result of evolution to promote bonding and cooperation. But to truly experience love is to feel it. It's the joy of shared laughter, the comfort of a shared silence, the pain of separation, the contentment of growing old together.

Existence is like a beautiful piece of music. You can understand it as a sequence of notes, rhythms, and harmonies. But to truly experience music is to feel it. It's the goosebumps as a familiar melody plays, the sadness in a minor key, the elation in a soaring crescendo, the catharsis as the last notes fade away.

The mind is a powerful tool for understanding the world around us. But sometimes, we get so caught up in understanding, analyzing, categorizing, that we forget to feel, to experience. We forget that existence is not just something to be understood, but also to be felt.

So let's take a moment, away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Let's take a moment to just be. To feel the sun on our skin, the wind in our hair. To listen to the birds singing, the leaves rustling. To taste the sweetness of a ripe fruit, the warmth of a cup of tea. To smell the freshness of the morning air, the aroma of a blooming flower. To close our eyes and just feel the existence. Because in the end, existence is not merely about understanding, it's about experiencing.
